In August 16, a visit to Kastamonu province performed. While investments are made in beekeeping all over Turkey, there is a decrease in the number of hives in Kastamonu, which has Turkey’s largest forest areas in terms of surface area. The number of hives from 86,261 in 2020 decreased to 80,383 in 2021. Honey production also decreased from 377 tons to 279 tons. Research has been carried out on what should be done to increase honey production in this province and to encourage local people to produce honey by placing honey beehives in and around the city.
